چکیده
Fenton (H2O2/Fe2+) system is a simple and efficient advanced oxidation technology (AOT) for the treatment of organic micropollutants in water soil. However, it suffers from some drawbacks including high amount catalyst, acid pH requirement, sludge formation slow regeneration Fe2+ ions. If these are surmounted, can be best choice AOT removal persistent organics In this work, was attempted to replace homogeneous catalyst with heterogeneous natural iron-based decomposition H2O2 into oxidative radical species, mainly hydroxyl (HO•) hydroperoxyl radicals (HO2•). Preparation of Heterogeneous Ferrite Catalysts and Their Application for Fenton-Like Oxidation of Radioactive Organic Wastewater
Fenton oxidation technology is the general strategy for the treatment of organic compounds-contained wastewater. However, a considerable amount of ferric sludge was produced during the Fenton process as secondary wastes, which were needed to be further removed from the effluent and treated. In this study, heterogeneous catalysts based on ferrite oxide (Cu-Fe-Ce-O) were synthesized and character...

The heterogeneous photo-Fenton degradation of crystal violet under visible light has been investigated usingcopper modified iron oxide. The photocatalyst has been prepared by coprecipitation method. The rate ofphotocatalyic degradation of dye was monitored spectrophotometrically. It has been observed thatphotocatalytic degradation follows pseudo first order kinetics. The effect of various param...
متن کاملPyrene removal from contaminated soils by modified Fenton oxidation using iron nano particles
BACKGROUND The problems related to conventional Fenton oxidation, including low pH required and production of considerable amounts of sludge have led researchers to investigate chelating agents which might improve the operating range of pH and the use of nano iron particle to reduce the excess sludge. The pyrene removal from contaminated soils by modified Fenton oxidation at neutral pH was defi...
متن کاملTreatment of Actual Chemical Wastewater by a Heterogeneous Fenton Process Using Natural Pyrite.
Wastewater from chemical plants has remarkable antibiotic effects on the microorganisms in traditional biological treatment processes. An enhanced Fenton system catalyzed by natural pyrite was developed to degrade this kind of wastewater. Approximately 30% chemical oxygen demand (COD) was removed within 120 min when 50 mmol/L H₂O₂ and 10 g/L natural pyrite were used at initial pH from 1.8 to 7....
متن کاملHeterogeneous photo-Fenton oxidation with natural clays for phenol and tyrosol remediation
Due to their excellent properties, clays have been widely used in several applications, particularly in catalysis. In this paper, three clays were used as heterogeneous photo-Fenton catalysts for phenol and tyrosol oxidations. Particular attention was given to the effect of the main operating conditions on the process performance. A total conversion was obtained for both organic pollutants with...
